On Wednesday April 15, there was a fatal moped crash on a busy street in Greenville.
According to the Greenville Police Department the crash happened around 4.30 p.m. close to the Williams Road intersection.
An SUV being driven by 67 year old Alfred Cedeno of Chedistial Drive, Grifton pulled out from Williams Road in front of Willard Jenkins of Hines Road, Winterville as he was riding on his moped on Greenville Boulevard toward Dickinson Avenue. Both Greenville Police and Greenville Fire Rescue responded to the accident but were unable to save Jenkins who passed away shortly afterwards.
The street was shut down for about two hours because of the accident while the investigation was carried out, before being re opened to drivers. Police have said that charges in the case are pending against the SUV driver.
